The Launching Ceremony of the Digital Library Wall by the British Council was held on the 08th of March 2023 at the Main Library of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The event was graced by Mr. Orlando Edwards, Country Director, British Council of Sri Lanka, and Prof. Sanjeewanie Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka together with all the deans of the faculties, academic, administrative, non-academic staff, and the students of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
The digital library wall is an illustrated wallpaper with active QR codes that links a mobile device to a variety of content including e-books, learning apps, podcasts, reports, and IELTS related material. The QR coded content can be downloaded free of charge using Android or iOS QR scanning apps. This presents a new way of accessing the library collection under the theme of “Like it, Scan it, Download it”. Digital wall empowers students, lecturers, researchers, and the entire university community to access a vast array of resources available at the British Council. The established digital wall facility will be enabling an international experience for the Rajarata University community.
