The Rajarata University of Sri Lanka marked the commencement of the new year on January 1, 2025, with an oath-taking ceremony held near the main administrative premises. The event was attended by academic, executive, and non-academic staff and was held under the patronage of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Janaka Pushpakumara. Simultaneously, a special ceremony was conducted at the Convocation Hall to recognize the academic, executive, and non-academic staff members who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the University over the years. During this occasion, Mrs. Asoka Siriwardana, the University Librarian, was honored with a silver medal by the Acting Vice-Chancellor in recognition of her dedicated service spanning 30 years toward the advancement of the University.
